If you think you need a college education to write a blog then think again, here is a little advice. Make your opinion known, people like blogs, they like blogs because they are written by people and not corporations. People want to know what people think, crazy as it sounds they want to know what you think. Tell them exactly what you think using the least amount of words possible.
Your voice
The great thing about writing a blog is that it’s an opportunity for your own voice to shine through. Your style should be engaging so that it carries people along through difficult ideas and encourages readers to come back to read more. It also encourages people to comment and interact with you, which is great for traffic. All writers have their own individual voice, you should try to find your own.
Your skills
Come up with a great idea and brand to showcase your skills and knowledge then work out your unique selling point, even if you’re not actually selling anything.
Organize Content
Use categories to organize the content on your website, think of them like a table on contents. Some things to keep in mind when using categories, don’t have too many categories or your site could become unwieldy. Don’t put posts into too many categories. Try to use up to two categories per post. Think of categories as navigation elements and build them into your site structure.
More Tips….
Keep posts short and simple. Keep it that way because most people simply skim over material. People do not have a lot of time, so do not burden them with too much info unless you have a really good reason to post lengthy entries in your blog.
